2011 Artist Lineup

Vic Puma - An original Staten Islander, Vic is also an experienced singer and performer, groupwing his musical roots as a student performing in his high school chorus.  During the 1980s, Vic appeared with a variety of local groups, including Deja Vu and with Fred Simmons in New York Bandstand. In the early 90s, he joined The Capris.  Vic moved to the forefront as first tenor with The Chimetones, where he remained until early 2001 when he came on board with The Fireflies.  On stage Vic performs as first tenor.

Fred Simmons - Originally from Manhattan, now residing in Staten Island, Fred is an accomplished singer and performer who for the past 15 years has entertained audiences as the lead vocalist for the group New York Bandstand.  His earliest influences include The Freshman, The Platters, The Heartbeats, and the Hi-Lo's.  Fred's excellent vocal range - which includes baritone, second tenor, first tenor, and falsetto - has made him a natural choice for The Firelies, whose high falsetto-like harmonies Fred handles ease. On stage, Fred performs second tenor and lead vocals. 

Paul Giacalone - Originally from Brooklyn, now residing on Long Island, Paul was the original recorded vocalist and songwriter fo the hit singles, "You Were Mine" and "I Can't Say Goodbye". After being away from the music business for several years, Paul was bitten by the performing bug again and decided to form the current version of The Fireflies. Paul has personally hand picked the current list of artists in the group to insure a great performance, something for which The Fireflies have always been known.  Paul is both the group's spokesman and bass vocalist on stage. 

Marco Gueli Jr. - From Greenlawn, New York, Marco began his musical career at age 13 when he wrote his first song hi high school.  By 1962, Marco recorded a song for Mohawk Records called "I'm So Lonely", which charted and moved into the top 100. In 1975, he formed a group called Reunion, which was successful performing locally on Long Island until 1991.  In 1999, Marco met Paul Giacalone, who heard him as the lead vocals on "You Were Mine" and "I Can't Say Goodbye" and instantely recruited him to become the new lead vocalist for The Fireflies. 

Bobby Villano - Originally from Manhattan, now residing in Staten Island, Bobby is a seasoned lead and background vocalist.  Back in school, Bobby would listen to the young Johnny Maestro sing on the street corner.  It was during this time that Bobby began singing with a number of local acapella groups on street corners and in clubs.  His earliest influences included Jackie Wilson and Dion DiMucci.  Bobby joined The Fireflies in September 2003 after performing with the group Just Friends for 12 years and with Fred Simmons in New York Bandstand for 7 years.  On stage, Bobby performs baritone and lead vocals.
